It’s crucial to share our narrative, and one method we employ is through food and our recipes. We’re committed to aid in gathering recipes and stories.
Starting this spring, we will be partnering with Casa de la Cultura Black Seminoles to, preserve their culinary traditions and heritage through collecting recipes and stories from their elders to share with their community and create a living cookbook.
In 2023, Adrian had the privilege of joining the Black Seminoles in Bracketville and Coahuila, Mexico, celebrating Dias de los Negros “Day of the Blacks” in El Nacimiento de los Negros “Births of the Blacks”. For over a century, Mascogos in El Nacimiento have observed this holiday, drawing Black Seminole descendants from across the nation to participate.
